A YEAR SPENT CODING

The 2023 job market was bad. So bad, Swedish Public Radio inexplicably asked me to talk to them about it, and now everyone in Sweden thinks I’m a loser.

But when I wasn’t whining to Europe long distance, I had a lot of time on my hands. With nothing to lose but my eyesight and my mind, I put in over 400 hours nailing down the basics of Python, Godot (game engine), GameMaker Studio (different game engine), and more libraries and modules than I can remember. Along the way, I also studied game design, pixel art, color theory, animation, and vector math (I don’t like math, but it’s how you make things move). Things I’ve coded have now been featured by publications like TechCrunch, Polygon, and Newsweek. If you’ve come up with something interactive, I’d love to help bring it to life!

As a final project before launching myself back into this hellscape of a job market, I am pleased to bring you the PeterNator v.165. You can access him via browser on your desktop or mobile (iOS only), but I would strongly advise desktop. Basically, I trapped ChatGPT in a game engine and forced it to say stupid things while wearing a terminator mask. You, and society, are welcome.

I also created a spin-off of Microsoft Copilot specifically for writers. Meet Edgar Allan Copilot, created with OpenAI’s Assistants API and Microsoft’s Office Add-Ins Platform.
